Mirihi Island Resort, a cherished destination in the Maldives known for its intimate setting and outstanding service, will temporarily close from May 5 to November 30, 2025, for an extensive enhancement project. After over 20 years of delivering memorable experiences, the resort has announced this closure to carry out renovations aimed at elevating its distinct appeal while preserving its signature tranquility.
General Manager Mohamed Shareef emphasized the resort’s commitment to excellence: “At Mirihi, our dedication to exceptional experiences and unparalleled service for our valued guests is our priority. These enhancements are thoughtfully crafted to enhance the comfort, elegance, and functionality of our villas and facilities.”
The planned upgrades include significant improvements across the resort. All villas will receive updated interiors and upgraded amenities, while the spa will feature a fresh design. A new gym overlooking the lagoon will also be introduced. Key dining and entertainment spaces—Anba, Dhonveli, and Muraka—will be refurbished with new furnishings to enrich the guest experience.
One of the most exciting additions will be an infinity pool offering stunning views of the lagoon, along with four new 2-bedroom Water Suites, each featuring a private pool, for an added touch of luxury.
Despite the temporary closure, Shareef assured that Mirihi’s unique charm will be preserved. “Our priority is to continue offering personalized service that celebrates the island’s natural beauty and vibrant marine life,” he said. The resort will retain its peaceful ambiance, marked by the absence of TVs in villas, motorized watersports, and loud music, ensuring a truly serene escape.
The Mirihi Team, celebrated for their exceptional hospitality, will receive full support during the closure. “Our award-winning team is the core of our success,” Shareef stated. “During the closure, we are fully committed to supporting our dedicated team members, acknowledging their essential role in creating the warmth and excellence that define the Mirihi experience.”
Guests eager to enjoy the enhanced Mirihi Island Resort can book stays starting from December 2025. The reservations team will be available during the closure to assist with inquiries and bookings.
“We deeply appreciate your patience and support during this period of refurbishment and look forward to welcoming you back to an elevated Mirihi experience,” Shareef concluded, extending gratitude to the resort’s loyal guests.
